Automation and Control for Industrial Machines

Automation and control components allow industrial machines to collect signals, execute logic, control motion or process functions and present information to operators. Inobalt supplies and helps select PLC controllers, I/O modules, signal converters, HMI displays, process indicators and related components for industrial automation and machine integration.

We help evaluate the control task, number of inputs and outputs, signal types, communication protocols, operator interface requirements and integration with sensors, measurement systems, drives or existing automation architecture.

Industrial automation from signal acquisition to operator control

Automation and control components form the technical layer that allows industrial machines to work accurately, repeatably and safely. A control system receives signals from sensors, processes information according to defined logic, activates actuators or drives, presents data to the operator and, when needed, transfers information to higher-level monitoring or data acquisition systems.

Inobalt supplies and helps select automation components for industrial machines, production lines, test systems, process control assemblies and special-purpose equipment. The product range includes PLC controllers, programmable relays, I/O modules, signal converters, HMI displays, process indicators and industrial communication interfaces.

What does an automation and control system include?

Depending on the application, an automation system can include digital and analogue inputs, relay or transistor outputs, temperature, pressure, flow, position or other sensor signals, programmable logic, operator screens, communication with drives, data loggers, remote monitoring platforms or existing PLC systems.

In practice, it is important not only to choose a single controller or display, but to design the complete signal chain correctly. A wrong analogue input, missing galvanic isolation, unsuitable communication protocol or limited I/O architecture can make commissioning more difficult, create measurement errors or limit future system expansion.

Main automation and control product groups

PLC controllers and programmable relays

PLC controllers are used to automate machines, equipment and industrial processes. They receive signals from sensors, execute the control logic and send commands to actuators, drives or other controlled devices. Compact programmable relays are suitable for simpler applications, while modular PLC architectures allow more advanced and expandable control systems.

I/O modules and signal acquisition

I/O modules are used when a system needs to collect more signals, distribute input and output points across the machine or connect signals through an industrial communication network. Digital, analogue, RTD, thermocouple, relay and special-purpose modules make it possible to adapt the control system to the real application.

Signal converters and isolation modules

Signal converters help adapt different industrial signals such as 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, temperature sensor signals, pulses or other measurement values. They are also used for galvanic isolation, noise reduction, signal scaling and reliable data transfer to PLCs, I/O modules, data loggers or monitoring systems.

HMI displays and operator panels

HMI displays allow operators to monitor machine status, change parameters, acknowledge alarms and control equipment through a clear local interface. They are commonly used together with PLCs, sensors, drives and process systems where local visualization and operator interaction are required.

Process indicators and large displays

Process indicators and LED displays are used when important values must be clearly visible in the production area. They can show temperature, pressure, weight, speed, counter values, cycle time, alarm status or other process information for operators and maintenance teams.

Connection with sensors, monitoring systems and motion control

Automation and control naturally connects with other Inobalt product areas. Sensors and measurement technologies provide information about the real process. Measurement and monitoring systems record, analyse and present data over time. Servo systems and linear motion systems perform controlled mechanical movement. The automation architecture connects these parts into one working machine or process system.

For this reason, control components should not be selected as isolated products. They must be compatible with the machine signals, communication protocols, control logic, safety requirements and future expansion needs.

How Inobalt helps select the right automation solution

Inobalt helps evaluate the control task, I/O quantity, signal types, communication protocols, operator interface needs and integration with sensors, drives, data loggers, HMI panels or existing automation systems. Depending on the project, we can help select a single component or define a complete signal and control architecture.
